"Learn from yesterday..."

Imagine
...live for today, hope for tomorrow." This is how the saying goes. However, 2016 taught me how to dare, to think differently, to shape a life of my own and on my own.  In January , after a destructive obsession that threw my emotions and thoughts all over the place, I learned that life doesn't wait for anyone . You have to grasp all the bits of courage you are equipped with and go on . G o f urther . G o away from what destroys you. Also, feelings do not bother people , they never will ; a nd if people say they do, then you know wh ich ones you must never come back to , and which ones you must never believe. What's more that I realized was that , i f you wait for the perfect moment or for when you are ready, you might lose the only opport u nity you will ever have . Just go with it and learn how t o do it later. Be courageous, trust yourself for that . SN mi-a amintit de ce nu m-as intoarce in Romania

In seara asta, brusc, mi-am amintit de Selectia Nationala; in viziunea mea, un show destul de important, avand in vedere ca si el participa oarecum la construirea unei imagini a Romaniei in Europa.

Funny Romanian expressions which would make a foreigner laugh

Imagine
The other day I've found a nice article , written (maybe) by one of my co-nationals on a pretty famous website, in which Romanian expressions and idioms were translated into English. Needless to say, they sounded hilarious. After I did a bit of research and found plenty of such articles, I decided to write one myself, where I gathered other expressions/idioms together. For my non-Romanian-speakers readers, of course :D. (note: some of them are just slangy, and not inscribed on the official dictionaries)    1. English people constrain other people to complete a certain task. A Romanian will place his nail in the other's neck ( Îi pune unghia în gât ). Also, he will place his own nail in his own neck , meaning he will do anything in order to achieve something. Isn't that sadistic?     2. When you are Romanian, you life may be dust ( praf ). Also, you may feel dust yourself because you drank too much or you said something wrong. Your friend can be dust as w...
